In a tiny, rural village near the area, the story Children of the Mist hovers
over the people like an inescapable haze, heavy enough to weigh down on their souls.
The story begins with the birth of a set of twins with ears and tails that crossed the line
between the human world and the spirit world. Disgusted by such creatures, the couple deemed the children to be of the evil eye, forsaken by the ungodly. To avoid their cursed existence, they sold the twins to the ハロー Cult, a place they believed could tame the kitsunes.
Even history wants to close its eyes to the horrors and punishments the two suffered. Not only were their hearts destroyed by the betrayal of their parents, but their minds, too, shattered like glass. It was as if they were choked by collars around their necks, forced into misery by the hand that held the end of the leash. They only ever hear one message: "We want what is best for you. The relic only accepts the strong. We are only trying to help."
The twins had no one but themselves. What should have simply been a storgē between sisters twisted into an obsession for a love that only existed between themselves. They learned that there was no love from others.

They were accepted by the relic fragment to the cult's elation, but this happiness was only temporary to ハロー.
They were massacred, and so was the village where the couple lived.
The fragment found no difficulty amplifying this hatred for those who have wronged them to become a wrath against humanity as a whole. It sang into their hearts words of sin and vice:
Come my sweet children
No love is for you
with knives in your backs
No one's words are true
Just hide in the mist,
use shadows to scare
kill those who defy
You'll be safe, I swear
" So, you've discovered us? We congratulate you, traveler.

you've found us, you can take away the Fragment?
What makes you think you are worthy enough? Do you have what it takes to protect those you love with that little feeble thing you call a heart?
" Can you overcome your inner fears in order to find your happiness?
" I am Tsuki. And I am Tayou. What are we? We would
invite you to come find out, but it does not seem like you will be leaving your mind any time soon. "
